Understanding the Role Parents Play in Tennis Success

The way you look at things would determine whether you can achieve success or not. This actually means that success comes to people who approach things with an open mind and some self confidence, but never to people who have attitude with no self confidence. Let us see if we can apply the same principle to tennis. Yes we can. What seems to be complicated at the start can be managed if you handle it with patience and self confidence. You are likely to meet with failure if you do not approach the game with self confidence. What can be done to improve your personal approach towards this game especially since this is going to be an influencing factor in the final results? several things can be taken up by you to improve on this area so that every game of tennis is going to be an experience by itself.

As you approach the game with an open mind, learn to love the way. When your attempt is half hearted, you can not achieve success. Instead you invite injuries and hate the thought of playing tennis. When your approach to the game is positive, you are in a better position to succeed. It does not matter for how long you have played the game. Nobody can play a good game if he or she is in a bad mood, whereas someone with a positive mental attitude can really play a good game.

Mistakes are part of any game. Even professionals make them. Learn to accept this fact and treat every mistake as an opportunity to learn. If you continue to make the mistakes when you have to move your racquet, take this as an opportunity to improve on your timing. If every mistake is treated as an opportunity to improve, then you would develop an improved outlook. If this gives you solace, remember even the best tennis players are prone to make mistakes, play terribly and regret having taken up the game.

Burning out should be avoided. This applies to any hobby, sport, job or activity. A burn out is inevitable if you play tennis all the time that you are awake. You could think of several activities to give yourself a break. For example shopping, hanging out with friends, sit lazy and watch the TV. These activities are refreshing and rejuvenating. These help you to approach tennis with a new mind. The quality of time you spend in these situations outside the court can be as precious as the time you spend playing.

It is important to remember that every player plays according to his own typical style. Thus, the style which your tennis coach practices may not be the right choice of style for you. Of course you would pay heed to the advice of your coach. However ensure that you do what suits you best. Your racquet, shoes and clothes are things which should be made exclusively for you and not because the coach feels comfortable in them. Your playing skills would develop as you take your time to develop your style. Though emulation is the height of admiration, never emulate another player not oven your coach.
