Formula for Tennis Success!

Success in any thing you do would be determined by the way you approach it. This would mean that if you can develop an approach with an open mind and a little self confidence, you can expect to be successful. But the moment you have an attitude or have no self confidence, success moves away from you. Let us see if we can apply the same principle to tennis. Yes we can. What seems to be complicated at the start can be managed if you handle it with patience and self confidence. The more self confidence you have in approaching the game the more are your chances of succeeding in the game. The final result of your performance can vary depending on your style of personal approach. You could do many things to improve this area so that you can play your best all the time.

As you approach the game with an open mind, learn to love the way. What happens when you make half hearted attempts at tennis? Your chance of succeeding reduces while your susceptibility to injury increases and you start hating the game. When your approach to the game is positive, you are in a better position to succeed. It does not matter for how long you have played the game. Anyone who approaches the game with the right mental attitude and a positive outlook would play a better game than some who is in a bad mood.

Do not fret if you make mistakes as it is perfectly normal. Even pros make them. Take every mistake as a chance to learn more. If you find you mostly make mistakes in the timing, when you have to swing your racquet, then concentrate on how you can improve on this area. If you take everything that you do wrong as an opportunity to improve, rather than as a failure you will be able to really improve your overall outlook. To make you feel better, remember that even the best tennis players are going to have days when they play horribly, make mistakes and just do not want to be on the court.

Anyone who plays for a long time, should also learn to avoid burn outs. Of course this can happen to any hobby, sport, job or activity. If you play tennis all the time, expect a burn out. Going shopping, hanging out with friends, lounging in the couch and watching TV are some activities which you could indulge in when you are not playing. To play the next game of tennis with a fresh mind, these activities can be of great help. The quality of time you spend in these situations outside the court can be as precious as the time you spend playing.

Each tennis player has his own style of playing. In fact the style which your coach uses may not suit you. Of course you would pay heed to the advice of your coach. However ensure that you do what suits you best. Take the example of your racquet, shoes and attire, these should be used according to your fitting needs and not because your coach uses them. Take time to develop your unique style. Your skills would develop as a consequence. It is never the right thing to do if you copy another player. Not even when he is your coach.
